Business insurance package
A package brings several covers together under one policy, so property, liability and business interruption are arranged, renewed and managed as one program. For many businesses that is simpler and more coherent than separate policies bought at different times. It is not the right answer for every business, and our work is to decide whether it is for yours.
The basics
A business insurance package, also called a packaged policy, combines several commercial covers under one policy and schedule. That means one renewal, one set of terms and one place to look when something changes or goes wrong.
The benefit is coordination. Separate policies from different insurers can leave gaps between them, or overlap in ways nobody planned. A package is designed so the covers work together.
A standard package typically includes:
Packages often carry sub-limits for items such as theft, money and glass, so the schedule needs reading closely.
Who it suits
Packages suit businesses with straightforward premises and operations, such as offices, retail, small hospitality, professional services and smaller property owners and managers. Property is a core focus for Contega.
What it covers
A package covers the core of most businesses. Other covers are usually placed alongside it, either because they are written as separate policies or because the exposure calls for its own wording.

Our Industrial special risks page explains how ISR works and when it suits a business better than a package.
Getting it right
Packages suit simpler operations. Where assets are high in value, spread across sites or tied closely to operations, a program built around the assets, or ISR, may protect better.
Sums insured should reflect the cost to rebuild and replace, and the period of cover should reflect how long recovery would really take.
Items such as theft, money and glass often carry their own limits. We check them against what the business holds.
Professional indemnity, cyber and management liability are usually better arranged on their own terms, and we decide that with you.
What affects the cost
Premiums are driven by your industry, annual turnover, the value of your assets, the number and type of locations, your claims history and the excess you choose.
The cheapest package is rarely the one that responds when you need it.
Our advice
Our advice begins with how your business runs: what it owns, what it depends on and what its leases and contracts require. From there we work out which covers belong in the package and which do not.
Where practice can be strengthened, we say so. Maintained premises, sound security and clear contract terms reduce the chance of a claim, and they can improve the terms you are offered.
Insurance is one part of the solution. We help you weigh what to transfer to an insurer, what to carry and what to reduce through better practice, then arrange the cover you choose.
If something does go wrong, we stay alongside you from the first notification.
